    hi all
    I have a doubt regarding DNS. when ever i install a package(for example squid,sendmail.....etc) the configuration files are storing in /etc directory. But when i install bind and cache packages my configuration files are storing in /var/named.....
    WHY?

    Hi Kalyan,

    This is default folder, but you can personalize in /etc/sysconfig/named.

    Redhat defaults to the CHROOT Env for bind which is /var/named/...
