Okay... Sorry for the essay...

Alright, im in my last semester of my course in Networking & System administration and we have been given a massive project to do. I have chosen to use a VMware image of fedora 7, to create the open source solution.

See I need active directory as the heart of the network, their is no point in learning about asteriks, crm, squid and all of the other open source technologies if i cant administor the network with some form of a domain administrative boundry.

Our project group has agreed to create an open ldaps solution.

This is the tutorial i tried out

Its not letting me give you the webpage because i havent posted 15 posts yet.

If you google, this: open ldaps + fedora tutorial

Its the second link, how to forge domain name space

When using the tutorial -

The command that installs the service via an automated yum command that goes to the mirror does not work...

yum -y install openldap openldap-clients openldap-devel openldap-servers

So i tried an rpm website and downloaded a package, but im very confused at the moment

If anyones good at linux or has more of an idea that me id apperciate the help!

Kind Regards,

Shaun
