You have a gigabit ethernet card and ..ähm.. a "not so fresh" redhat 9.

There were hardly any gigabit cards available back then.
My guess is, there is simply no kernel module, as the card is too new for that version of redhat.
If it is a option for you, get a ubuntu 9.04 or centos 5.3 or fedora 11.
If you want or have to stay with rh9,
you could get and install a 100MBit/s card.

As mentioned, Red Hat 9 is OLD. Your NIC was only a dream when RH9 was a new distro.
While it may be possible to get it to work, it would be like trying to put a jet engine in a Model T Ford. It may technically be possible, but is it worth all of the effort?
Support for Red Hat 9 was discontinued long ago, and you will not be able to update anything. Please use a newer version of Linux.Paul

Welcome to the forums!

By all means, give one of the later versions of Fedora a try, or should you wish to stick with Red Hat, you can try Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or it's clone, CentOS (no Red Hat logos, or paid support channel). Any of them should provide much better hardware detection:
