    Post usb not detected...

    Hi All,
    I am a new user of Linux using RHEL5. I faced problem when i connect usb in Laptop Model: compaq nc6000.

    Error:
    usb 4-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 58
    usb 4-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 62
    usb 4-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 70
    usb 4-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 87

    hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)

    Hi,

    post you dmesg and make sure that ehci is loaded before uhci these seem to be many problems associated with USB and that sequence.

    We made two partition in Laptop one for Windows Xp and another for Linux RHEL 5. Same usb is detected and working properly in windows envoirnment while in Linux it is not worked. Same USB in another laptop in linux RHEL5 envoirnment it is working properly.....
    Any suggestion?

    Hi

    Windows has nothing to do with your problem at all

    you need to post your dmesg:
    Code:
    dmesg
    and
    Code:
    lsusb
    so that people can see what's going on behind the scenes.

    And what is it that you're puting in the USB to cause this?

    Same USB in another same laptop "Compaq nc6000" in linux RHEL5 envoirnment it is working properly.....
