    Linux GUI issue

    Hi,
    One of my fedora core 8 client is booting, but the graphical login screen is not displayed. Instead the screen is scrambled and I could see complete vertical lines on the screen like barcodes. how to rectify this issue.

    This is a pretty classic issue with certain video drivers and graphics cards.

    Do you know what your graphics card is? (I would guess an ATI card of some sort.)

    Do you know what driver you have installed?

    I would also recommend upgrading to a more recent release. Fedora 8 is pretty old and doubtlessly not well supported anymore. An upgrade may fix all your problems.
