Pesky "RECYCLER"
Hi Everybody,
I noticed for the past weeks that there is a file found recurrent in my triple boot laptop, Fedor11/XP/PCLinuxOS. I think it may be a virus of some sort because I tried to "trash" it several times but it keeps on returning. I trashed it in my Fedora and it creeps up in my PCLinuxOS and vice versa. Sometimes I find it it my XP partition named ".trash".
May I ask for some advise on how to delete it permanently please? As always, I thank you in advance for any help.
Cheerio!!!

That's a normal system file, it's required by your desktop environment. It's the equivalent of the Windows recycler folders you'll see if you have system files shown in Windows.
It's not a virus, it's your recycle bin. It doesn't make sense if you send something to the trash to move it to another volume so if trash something a .trash folder will be created to hold it and any further deletions.
In Linux, the preceding '.' in a filename indicates that it is a hidden file. Think of it as a filename extension only
