Thumbs down My USB won't work.

I am using Red Hat Linux 9, and when I plug in my USB it won't show up anywhere. I don't know how to use the commands in Linux worth crap, so if you must give me commands in order to fix my problem, then you are going to have to tell me what command to open up and step by step how to do everything. I just want to get my USB to show up and be able to see the files. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem is with your choice of Linux distro.

Red Hat 9 is very old, and support for it was discontinued long ago. USB drives were not very common back then, so the fact that it won't work doesn't surprise me.

If you want a modern Red Hat based distro, use the latest version of Fedora. It is currently at Fedora 11.

    Thank you!

I'll get that as soon as possible.
