I am trying to view some videos in flash and all I see is the "loading Flash" icon...forever. However on the same page Flash banner ads are running fine?

Why would Flash banners work but Flash videos just say "loading" forever. Makes no difference what site so it is not an error on the server with the files.

My first thought is to check if you have gnash or swfdec installed, and if so, uninstall them. They can interfere with the adobe flash plugin.
