yum problem

Hello!

I am a new Linux user and I am still learning so my question might be silly. Anyway, I've installed Fedora Core 10, as I did before on other 2 PCs, and want to yum updates, but the only thing I get is

# yum update
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit

and then it stops. And all yum commands work similar. The network connection works fine, and on other 2 PCs yum works ok. What can be the problem with this PC?

And just another detail: after a long time I get a message:

Could not retrieve mirrorlist mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-10&arch=i386[/url] error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (110, 'Connection timed out')>
