Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

* Storage Hard Drive 160 GB, 2.5″, 5400 RPM
* Wired Ethernet LAN 10 / 100 BaseTX

* VGA
Mic-in
USB 2.0 x 3 USB (2 chargeable USB ports)

* 6 cell battery lithium ion
* Dimensions (W XH XD) 10.27″ x 1.19″ x 7.3″
Weight (including battery) 1.3kg (2.8 lbs)
I have in front of me a CD for Fedora 11 packaged with a lot of useful software (spotted in the newsagents) - will I have any problems using this OS on my netbook as far as any of you can see? In particular, it would be very useful if any Samsung 'N-Series' users could shed any light on this! I plan on dual booting with the Windows XP that comes pre-installed, at least to start with.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Just curious. Did you look in this Wiki to see if anyone has documented their experiences with Fedora 11 on a Samsung Netbook.

The hardware seems basic enough - it should be just fine I would think. Ubuntu should be fine also. As rokytnji said, check the Samsung wiki and/or do some googling about this to find others who might have had some experience installing/running Linux on a Samsung laptop/netbook.

Talexe, I installed Fedora on my Acer Aspire One 110A with the SDD. It works like a charm and no noticable decrease in the basic operation. I can even connect a 19" external monitor without the hassels. The fan, SD, wireless, and WebCam all work fine. If it works with an Acer AA1 it shoud work with the other netbooks. gB-)

In case anyone is interested, I've heard that battery life is heavily reduced running Fedora on the Samsung N120. I think it's probably best to look elsewhere this time.

What about Ubuntu 9.04? It seems to handle power management pretty well on my Dell D630 laptop?
