hello,
im running linux fc10 x86_64. lately its been running very sluggish. i have just over 400gb space on the hard drive and 1gb of memory. how can i get it to run like the norm again? ty...bob

Can you describe the problem with more detail? Are you experiencing high CPU utilization? Are you swapping? Look at top to see if anything is eating CPU. Also use free -m to see your memory usage.

heres what my memory looks like. it looks like i might need more memory?
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 873 740 132 0 6 300

Swap: 1759 0 1759

linux sluggish
hi
when i copied the memory usage from terminal it all ran together. it is:total mem=873, used=740, free=132 and it looks like its totally swapped out. it is most sluggish when i click on links, sometimes opening mail, sometimes it just hangs, and i have to force quit to get out of it...bob

..well, *0* swap is good then, right? bare with me, im still learning! built this computer end of dec '08, still rather new to linux, tho i have learned ALOT!...bob
