    Can'T install Linux

    Hello!

I bought a laptop with linux (red flag) on it. When i switch it on, it starts to install itself, after a while it asks for a localhost login and a password. I have no idea what these are, and i cant find written down anywhere. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not asking you to create an account for the computer?

localhost just means the "this computer" and is a name given to all computers to refer to themselfs

I tried typing in a login and password, but all I got was: "login incorrect"

    Edit:
We found a possible solution, thanks for the help.

Are you sure you don't mean starting up and not installing? Installing a new linux distro doesn't require you to have a current username and password, you set them up during installation, and afterwards you use them when it is installed. I think you mean that the laptop is starting up, then asking you for a username and password which you don't know. Where did you get the laptop?
