I don't think Fedora 8 is officially supported any longer, but you can play movies using VLC, or Mplayer. I've used both in the past and they worked quite well.oz

To play various proprietary, patent-encumbered media formats, you need to install some packages available through the rpmfusion repository. However, they only maintain packages for current Fedora releases, so you need to be running at least Fedora 10 to use it.
