    Fedora 11 and aic7xxx problem

I have installed Fedora 11 on a AMD CPU PC. When I boot the PC I can access the Adaptec AHA-2940W Bios and see the 2 tape drives connected to it. In the /var/log/messages file I get the following error:

    Aug 22 21:42:07 dragon8 kernel: aic7xxx: probe of 0000:00:0a.0 failed with error -38

I get the same thing if I manually try to load the aic7xxx module via modprobe.

Hopefully someone has some idea as to what is wrong.

    Thanks:
    Jack Allen

Is the aic7xxx kernel module built for fc11, or another version/kernel? If built for fc10 or earlier, it probably won't work (as you see) and need to either get an updated driver, or the source code for the driver so you can rebuild it for this kernel.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
