Hi
Found this site. Not sure if it will help you. Just add the http stuff at the front as because I have not posted at least 15 times I cannot refer you to a URI. Sorry.
//kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-6951] Red Hat Knowledgebase: How do I configure my system to automatically logout a user after a certain amount of inactivity with bash?[/url]
Cheers...

Unfortunately that only applies to the Bash shell environment. I need something that works in the gnome GUI environment
Thanks anyway.

Hi
Maybe you mean to lock the screen, so no one can use your computer after so many minutes of idle time.. Once locked it requires a password to get back to where you were. If this is what you mean, you can go to System Menu at the top left and drag the Lock Screen Icon to a Panel and drop it there. Once there you can adjust the time by right clicking the Icon and invoking Properties. Once here you can adjust the time to whatever you like. Also you can play with the Activate Screen Saver and Lock Screen when Screen Saver is running items.
Sorry if this is not what you mean but I am not sure about any Auto Logout other than this. Cheers...
