    [SOLVED] RHEL5 DNS issue - Help me please !!!

    Hi,
    I am new to linux and am running Red Hat 5. I am having problems trying to get DNS working. When I try and start the named service, I am getting the error "rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953:connection refused" . I then get the following errors that pop up in it's own window (in gnome).

    named failed. The error was: Stopping named: [60G[[0;31mFAILED[0;39m]

    By default RH5 uses a chroot env for bind. This is located under /var/named/chroot.
    What does your named.conf look like?

    Hi Lazydog, that was the problem, I have made sure the config files are in the correct location and it is all okay now.
