FC 11 RPM for ndiswrapper
Hi,
I installed FC 11 live on a USB. I'm looking forward to connect my broadcom wireless card.
I tried "yum install kmod-ndiswrapper" but it says no update available.
I tried looking for i686 ndiswrapper rpm but no avail. Where can I find the i686 ndiswrapper rpm. I tried installing i586 ndiswrapper rpm but it failed.
Thanks for your help!!!

have you tried just yum install ndiswrapper? im pretty sure lvina repo has it...
I can imagine a perfect world, a world without hate, a world without war. Then I can imagine us attacking that world because they\'d never expect it.

You shouldn't need NDISwrapper for most Broadcom wireless cards. Most are covered by the b43 Linux driver. Those that aren't are covered by the Broadcom-wl driver.
If you post more info about your wireless we can assist you.Paul

Hi,
I don't have my wlan details listed when I do "ifconfig". So, I assumed it didn't start the wlan. When I checked the network hardware part, it lists bm43 as wlan. I thought ndiswrapper may help me in this.
Regarding, "yum install ndiswrapper", it looks like I dont have the file for livna repo in my "/etc/yum.*/". What are the contents of that file? Can I get it from somehwere?

Hi Paul,
I did "dmesg" and a grep for firmware as you suggested in your wireless set-up. I found my broadcom driver firmware is outdated.
I logged onto linuxwireless (FC 11 message) and found the b43-fwcutter for my wireless card. Did installation as directed. It worked.
Thanks a lot for your help.

I could have linked you up with a rpm that will install the firmware. Here it is in case you want to save it for future use.
