Do you have another hard drive or are you trying to dual boot from the same drive? Its deffinitally doable however resizing partitions is always an iffy subject IMO...

Linux tools for partitioning are better than partition magic and available during installation, so you don't have to use Partition Magic at all.
First defrag windows and backup your important data in case something goes wrong during the partitioning.
Boot using the RHEL cd.
During installation, you will be asked about partitions. Select manual and resize the windows partition to make it as small as you want
(that's why you had to defrag in the first place).
Make:- 1GB swap partition
- the rest ext3 type partition, mount point /.
The best practice is to create a separate /home partition, but your hard disk is a bit limited...

I tried it yesterday but was unsuccessfull. If I boot my PC with RHEL CD its taking me to anaconda installation screen and asks to install on HDD. But as I just have C: drive on my PC with NTFS partition how shall I proceed? Coz if I will install on HDA it will overwite Windows XP. But I want to keep both the OS. Sorry if I missed anything but I am a new user and want to prepare for LINUX+ certification.

RHEL installer will let you resize existing and create new partitions. As L4Linux suggested already, select Manual Partitioning in Partition Section during installation. Shrink /dev/hda1 and create two new partitions for / and SWAP.
You can use PartedMagic LiveCD to create partitions before starting installation. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
