    [SOLVED] How to exit x server mode to inst nvidia drivers?

    Hi Everyone! I'm entirely new to Linux world. I've searched on net already, but it was in vain.
    I've tried almost everything but I was unable to solve this problem.
    I want to install the Nvidia drivers on my laptop, but i get a message saying that i must exit the x server. How can i do this?

    Flip to a text console - CTRL-ALT-F2 works for most distributions. Log in as the root user, and use the 'init' command to change to a non-X runlevel. On RedHat and Fedora use 'init 3'.

    Alternatively, if you're using Fedora, you could try the pre-built binaries at rpmfusion - follow their instructions to install their repository and use yum or your package manager to install the 'kmod-nvidia' package.

    On the CLI type 'init 3'
    After you install the nVidia drivers type 'init 5'
