    Logs not updating

    The logs in the Servers are not updating...
    -rw------- 1 root root 0 Aug 30 04:11 spooler
    -rw------- 1 root root 0 Aug 23 04:04 spooler.1
    -rw------- 1 root root 0 Aug 16 04:04 spooler.2
    -rw------- 1 root root 0 Aug 9 04:13 spooler.3
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 30 04:11 up2date
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 23 04:04 up2date.1
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 16 04:04 up2date.2
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 60 Aug 10 15:18 up2date.3

    How to enable this logs, which every time show the usage as 0.

    check if your syslog service is running or not???
    # service syslogd status
    if it's not running start it by
    # service syslogd start
    the make it to start at boot
    # chkconfig syslogd on
    There is nothing impossible, for everything is possible; the impossible only takes a bit longer than the possible.

    It looks like syslog may be working because your log files are turning over and one has 60 bytes in it. Try this:

    Try:
    $ logger -p kern.alert "asdf12345"
    $ grep -r asdf12345 /var/log/*

    If grep finds an entry then it's logging properly.

    What program are you trying to log? Sendmail? Make sure you are checking the right log path.
