    Boot failure in FC11

    Hello all,
I'm currently running FC11 with kernel 2.6.29.5-191.fc11.x86_64, where everything works fine. My system has periodically downloaded updated kernels (2.6.29.6-217.2.16 and 2.6.29.6-217.2.8 ) but when I attempt to boot into either of them, they get most of the way through the boot process and then stop with the errors:
    Code:
    iwlagn 0000:0e:00.0: firmware: requesting iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode
    iwlagn loaded firmware version 228.61.2.24
Registered led device: iwl-phy0: (4 things)
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
and then just sits there blinking indefinitely.
If I start the computer with the wireless card off, it just gives me a blank screen.
This could be because I patched the wireless drivers in the past and blacklisted the old wireless drivers, but I have since un-blacklisted them and the problem persists.
I've also tried to compile and install my own kernel (2.6.30.5) which doesn't even make it two seconds into the boot process before giving me a blank screen with a blinking input icon.
I've looked through the only error logs I know of (/var/log/boot and dmesg) without finding anything I thought was useful for debugging the issue.

If any of you know how to fix it or could point me in a direction to help fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Update:
I've successfully booted one of the newer kernels (not the one I compiled) by booting into runlevel 3. I then went through and checked for any differences between rc3.d and rc5.d and the only difference was in the process auditd that runs at level 3 and is killed at 5. I don't know why this would be stopping the computer from booting at runlevel 5 though.

Update edit: I've tried installing the newest nvidia drivers since that would seem to be the difference between runlevel 3 and 5 (the lack of X). This initially failed, but then completely uninstalling and re-installing the drivers did the trick.

My remaining problem is the newest kernel 2.6.30.5 which won't boot at any runlevel.
