FEDORA 11 Live CD Install Problem ????
Hi Dear All,
Yesterday i installed Fedora 11 from its Live version. Following steps i did :
I was having XP on my DELL Laptop and i booted it using FEDORA11 live USB, evrything went as expected.
Partition Layout used for FEDORA 11 install::
dev/sda8 /boot ext3 199MB
dev/sda9 / ext4 4437MB
dev/sda10 swap 4347MB
dev/sda11 ext3 1199MB
I installed GRUB bootloader on First sector of /boot partition of dev/sda8, not on MBR (at /dev/sda1) as there XP bootloader is there.
The successful installation message came and it asked me to reboot the laptop
Following Error happened::
No bootloader devices---Strike F1 to Retry boot, F2 for set utilities, Press F5 to run onboard diagonostics...
Now how to solve it??? Plz Guide.
Regards,
KRISHNA

You should have installed GRUB in MBR only. Its a default location. GRUB detects Windows OS and setup dual boot itself.
Windows boot loader should work fine after Linux installation but something has gone wrong.
You have two options now. Either install GRUB boot loader again or re-install Windows Boot Loader. You can use SuperGRUB USB/CD/Floppy to do that. I would suggest you to install GRUB in MBR only.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

In that case, boot up from Windows Installation CD, select Repair and execute Fixmbr command at repair prompt.
Fixmbr command will remove GRUB and Windows OS will boot up fine.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
