    Browser not opening

    Hi,
We have installed RHEL 5. I access the server with XManager 3. I am able to open the browser (firefox) if I log in as root. But I am not able to open the browser if I am logged in as an oracle user.

I am able to ping any server in the domain. But I am not able to ping to any xternal websites including google etc..
(for both oracle and root users)

But when I am logged in as root, I am able to go to any website in the browser.

As the oracle user I cannot even bring up the browser.
Am I missing something? What should I do?

So what happens if you open a shell and try to run the browser from there?

when I login as root and type firefox in the shell, the browser opens. But as the oracle user if I do the same thing nothing happens. The worst part is there is No error.

Will it start with firefox -ProfileManager

After it fails what does 'echo $?' give you?
