Maybe you shall try to install the desktop environment LXDE of openSUSE or Ubuntu distros it will fulfill your requirement that is because your computer resource is not enough to run fedora no matter which desktop environment you want to use.
You also can choose any distros, but only one of important thing is desktop environment...

To give you some idea about Fedora system requirements, here are the documented requirements for Fedora 10:
2.*What is New for Installation and Live Images
As you can see, your system meets the requirements in every way. However, you might find that using a lightweight desktop environment such as Xfce4, LXDE, or perhaps one of the simple window managers only, like fluxbox might help to speed things up for you.
Do post back and let us know what you go with and how it works out for you.oz

You must be reading it differently than me because it clearly indicates that it works with a Pentium 3 the way I read it:
Fedora 10 requires an Intel Pentium or better processor, and is optimized for Pentium 4 and later processors.
Recommended for graphical: 400 MHz Pentium II or betteroz

Actually, for quite a while I ran Fedora on a PIII 1GHz with 512 RAM.
Gnome really dragged, but as suggested above, you should be fine with a lightweight WM.
I chose IceWM, but LXDE or XFCE would do just as well.Jay

ok so fedora 10 will work. i'll download it.
and is IceWM derive from redhat?
i'm trying to learn redhat as its the common.

You'd do better to download Fedora 11. Fedora 10 will reach end of life 1 month after Fedora 12 is released, and that is scheduled for release in mid-November.
IceWM is a window manager. Window managers and Desktop environments are not distro-specific. You can pretty much install whatever you want on any distro, although, if the distro doesn't provide packages, you'd either have to find third party packages or compile the software yourself.

The spec requirements are the same for Fedora 10/11.

The following CPU specifications are stated in terms of Intel processors. Other processors, such as those from AMD, Cyrix, and VIA that are compatible with and equivalent to the following Intel processors, may also be used with Fedora. Fedora 11 requires an Intel Pentium or better processor, and is optimized for Pentium 4 and later processors.

Minimum RAM for text-mode: 128MiB
