do you mean the socket type of the processor or do you mean sockets used by the OS for communication?

Actually i want to know the socket type of the processor only but there is nothing wrong in telling about the communication socket also i think. Can you please.

the model of the processor determines the socket it is installed in, but some sockets have more than 1 processor designed for them
I'm not sure I really understand your original question, are you asking if the socket is different in linux?

I am looking for what is socket and is it related with Processors?. Also want to know is there any difference between the windows and unix sockets?.

sockets when speaking in terms of the OS are not related to the processor
