    Redhat 5 clustering

    HI
I am stuck from last couple of days on the bellow issue

I have read this article so many times but could not get anything

I have setup 2 node cluster, NOde A and NODe B
Now i have setup NOde B as failover of NOde A
    Have a look to attachment.

so my theory was, from firewall i did port forward to node A (192.168.1.2) , problem is, if node A is down, Node b suppose to take control, but HOw firewall will know to divert all trafiq to node b??

after reading i realized that.. i need to use virtual IP and virtual server..

so the product Phirana, do i need to install phirana in another pc to implement virtual server and virtual Ip in node A and node B ??

whats the basic architecture of the network ??

please give me some light ...

I don't know the exact answer for your question. May be wait till any LF member answers your question.

I'm setting up cluster storage (just I'm newbie -started couple of weeks back) : 2-servers and 1-client using http://www.gluster.com/community/doc...tion/index.php

Both Server directories mounted on client (Like NFS) and any files created in server-1 replicates itself in server-2.

    hi thanks
i will have a look that link, but i need to understand the redhat 5 clustring...

you would be able to do replication by using redhat 5 clustring by using GFS.
Some guy said, when node A will fail, node B will take over the IP from node A which does make sense.. but

for that you need virutal IP .. now problem is, do i need to use phirana for making virtual server and virtual Ip ??

how all this virtual ip works in redhat 5 clustering ?
