Did you use option 'bridged network' while creating machine? If not, try it.

The network is not set up properly? Can you access internet or other network resources?

    hi,

As if you have configured your network cards to be used in Bridge mode. Have you plumed your network cards? in VMbox

Use below command to plumb your network cards

    ifup eth0

after plumbing your network card, re-allocate ip address to you network card.

    It should work..

Is your host on a network with dhcp or do you need to assign static IP?

Yeah,it's a good idea to configure your network card to be used in DHCP mode, generally speaking ,it should work under this configuration.
