    Post How to Configure FTP server?

    Well guys am totally a newbie with Linux , this is the first time we've offered Linux administration course, ive now got a basic knowledge of using Kernel and i am working over Red Hat Linux 9.

    No as part of my assignment i need to configure a FTP server and web server, i searched many things but may b because am new to all this so am not getting the cncpts ..
    Thats y i m looking for a step wise tutorial (with little information of each steps like why are we doing that step) of configuring above two servers over Red Hat Linux 9.
    This would be helping me alot in understanding linux.

    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    Redhat 9 is a very old distribution that reached its end of life several years ago. If you are learning and need to use something similar to the old Red Hat, use CentOS or Fedora. There are many tutorials on the web on how to setup an ftp server on CentOS or Fedora using vsftpd and setting up a webserver using apache. One good resource is here.
