HELP:Trouble with Graphics
FC11
nvidia geforce 6150 le
where should i start from...was installing CounterStrike using wine . Somehow i managed to but the emulation was worse. So on IRC someone told me to install kmod-nvidia . After doing this the game stopped working as well as the Graphics got blurred yes blurred . Then i tried installing nvidia drivers back but failed. This time I restarted using other(previous) version of kernel from the grub list it seemed better than the first ,the blur disappeared but its still persistent at some sections of the desktop.. how to get the system back to normal

Uninstall kmod-nvidia and reinstall the proprietary nVidia drivers that you can download from nVidia. What video board and nVidia chip set are you using?

I have Acer AS L100 PC , dont have any info on the video board and chipset .
Rubberman how is the uninstallation of kmod drivers done?
Also why is that only one kernel affected and others are partly affected?
Reinstallation of nvidia drivers would fix all the kernels or some other way?
Merci

As root (or sudo), execute the command "yum remove kmod-nvidia" and see what happens. If yum didn't find the package and returned an error, post the output here.

Rubberman i uninstalled the kmod drivers as you said and installed the nvidia drivers successfully but the blurred effect is still there. The blur effect i'm talking about ther's a pattern it follows . Say if i have opened a window, every even numbered folder in the first , second row and so on.. appears blurred..Even as i'm typing every alternate words appeared blurred .
Can this be overcome ? I think a reinstallation would help..what say? But this is gonna be the last resort.
There's no problem in XP though.

Which driver did you install and again, what is the board you are using? This definitely seems like a driver problem, though it could be a board initialization thing. To check that, did you do a soft reboot after installing the new driver, or did you do a cold shutdown and restart with the power off?

PC - Acer ASL100
Video Card - Nvidia Geforce 6150 le
I downloaded the respective drivers from nvidia website by selecting the appropriate videocard and OS(the same drivers I had installed after installation of FC11) . About the video board , i searched everywhere but couldn't get any info on it .After installing the drivers I had given a restart.
You have any way to find the video board?
XP is OK though.

Which driver version did you install? I had some problems with more recent releases especially with full-motion video. I had to revert to a slightly older driver which works just fine (177.82). Are you running 32bit or 64bit FC11?
