    VI editor Program syntax coloring problem

    Dear All,

    I got Fedora 11 installation on my Dell laptop and I have installed the VIM just a while ago. Now I got problem when editing programs in VI editor because it's not displaying the syntax color for programs. (For ex: java file display as Only a black and white document)

    What will be the problem?

    Dear All,

    I found the solution,

    $vi filename
    :syntax on

    But still i don't know how turn on syntax permanently. If anybody pls reply
