extending screensaver start time
I am very new to Linux (Fedora
. If I step away from keyboard more than 5 minutes, I return to a locked, screensaver.
I wish to know how to do the following please:
1) Turn off the screen saver completely since it is a residential laptop and I am usually on it alot. And if I need to activate a screen saver, I would need the path or the command to do so.
2) extend the start period. since it activates in about 5 minutes, I would like (if I can't do item #1), to have it start say 10 minutes after an idle keyboard.
Please help.

Assuming you are using gnome (not sure how old the version is with F8 ), but under system->preferences->screensaver should be where you modify that. There should be either a lock screen app that you can add to a taskbar or possibly it is under system (so you can manually lock it if you want).

Thanks to all who helped. Coopstah13 instructions were close, and I was able to find the right path to correct the problem. Thanks Coopstah13h.
On my version, I had to:
System > Preferences > Look & feel > Screensaver j
