Damn FC11 installation will not play DVDs

    Hi

    I have installed

    totem
    totem-xine
    dvdread
    dvdplay
    dvdnav
    gstream plugins
    mad

    etc

But that damn mplayer (I could personally strangle the person who created it!)

Keep yapping about "DVD Source plugin not installed".

I feel like the guy from Office Space and the PC load letter.

How can both Xine, Totem, Mplayer continue to yap about that it can't play dvds then all the plugins are installed???????????????

I would try vlc, it has everything built in, I've never had difficulty playing anything with it. Just so you know, you probably need to install libdvdcss in order to play encrypted dvd's (most are these days), unfortunately I don't use fedora, and I think that is in some other repo, so I can't help with that.

I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.

You also need libdvdcss to play copy-protected (CSS encoded) DVD's, which includes most all commercial ones.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
