    Unhappy Hi all (plz i need ur help asap)

    am new mmeber on the linux forum, and am new with linux os

    i need ur help regarding the fedora 8,
    i have 12 servers Dell from two diffrent models which is 2950 and 1950
    but i cant find any software manage the RAID status and i cant take image from the hard disk on the DVD

    please help me all

    I would suggest using a server distro such as CentOS rather than fedora 8 (which is outdated anyway). The latest version of CentOS is 5.4. When you are referring to the raid status, do you mean the dell IPMI? I think there is an open IPMI, but I'm sure that you can get one on dell website.

    Hi`

    thanks for your suggesting but on the mean time i cant change the OS because i install our application on these server and now live network

    i mean by raid status = the RAID Utility that is mean i have to hard disk on each server and the RAID controller configured but if one of the Hard Disk crashed how i can now i need the this tools to give me the full status


    i need to take copy (Image) from the hard disk on the DVD to save my self if some times the employee restore it

    dd command is used for creating images of a disk, then you can burn this image to a DVD.

    If the raid becomes broken, shouldn't you use the raid tool for the PERC controller during the boot process? Why would you need software to do it?
