auditd glomming memory in RHEL 5.3
Today I noticed something odd, System Monitor is showing me that on my newly installed RHEL 5.3, auditd is sometimes using (supposedly) 82 Petabytes of memory (?!?!?). That's right, it lists numbers like 86492305 GiB. Then it will jump to a mere 208.4 GiB, and then down to as low as 8KiB only to rush back up to 208.4GiB (which seems to be its favourite amount).
Obviously it can't really be using this much memory, I don't even have a fraction of this amount of hard drive space, let alone RAM.
Anyone have a clue about what is going on here?
