Last night while updating the system I quit in between(the system seemed stalled).Today I discover am able to boot to XP but booting to FC11 ends the trail to black screen with a cursor. On IRC they tell me to reinstall grub and I do..
After dev/(the code I mean) i had given a series of entries like sda2 which gave me some error then I wrote sda..but all these yielded errors. Then after a reboot the OS'es list disappeared.Code:grub-install.../dev/...
Later I managed to install the grub, compile kernel and install nvidia drivers but am able to boot to fedora but not to windows .In fedora i'm able to see only D: and PQservice but C: is missing.
How should I fix this ?
Is C: alright?

Are you running an ext2, or is it an ext3 file system with Fedora? In any case, it sounds like you rebooted while the system was writing to disc. Not a good idea. You probably need to boot a recovery CD/DVD and try to fix the boot loader / partition table as well as your Linux file system. It might make it so you can reboot the system and finish the recovery. This is a good example of why regular system image backups are desirable.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Hey Rubberman glad to see you..
I'm using ext3
The system image backups you mentioned is it the one we see when you boot the system and we get a list of the OS'es and their versions
By recovery DVD do you mean the DVD with which I have installed fedora?
How is the partition table and filesystem to be fixed using the DVD?
