Permission problems with centos and iscsi nas

i have a centos 5.3 server that is connected to an istor iscsi nas. this server has been working fine for the better part of a year with no issues and now all the sudden the nas will go read only.. the nas is mounted to /home and added fstab with these settings. /dev/sdb /home ext3 _netdev 0 0... i dont claim to be a linux guru... im basically a beginner. any help would be greatly appriciated.

If that NAS device decided to be read only out of the blue,
and if you are sure, nothing has been changed in either NAS or the centos server config,
then the very first thing to check is if the NAS has a broken disk and therefore a degraded RAID.

What Irithori said. Since it was working fine for a long time and you didn't do anything to change how the system mounted the device, then it is most likely a problem with the storage device itself. Most NAS units I am aware of have error/problem logging - you should be able to go onto the built-in web server and see what's going on with the unit.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
