Which version of Fedora/RedHat are you using? Have you tried VLC Player? It supports most the media formats.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I am new usr in linux. try to install VLC on my fedora 10 but getting an error like" set glib-package and glib environment error. could you please help me to download vlc setup file. appriciate if you tell me instruction to setup vlc.

Make sure you have your repositories setup properly and use this guide for getting VLC or other media players installed using YUM:
Personal Fedora 10 Installation Guide
It should be something as simple as:
...orCode:yum install vlc
...if you have the repos setup properly.Code:sudo yum install vlc
