    You could try downloading and using SystemRescueCD at the link below. It has good documentation and instructions on use:

    Welcome to the forums!

    Another good tool (but smaller download) for recovering partitions and data is the Parted Magic liveCD. It comes with TestDisk and PhotoRec, both are which are excellent tools for recovery efforts. Depending on what you deleted and the method of deletion, it could be as simple as restoring them from the trash can.
