Has anyone had any success with video hardware for Power PC G5? Any GeForce cards? ATI cards on the cheap?
I have seen USB to VGA devices in the local Best Buy and Office Depot. Do any of these work with a PowerMac G5? I've read the boxes and they seem to be optimized for USB 2.0 and contain drives for winder$.
Just asking?
Anyone well versed with Fedora for PPC? I would love a sounding board.
thank YOU!

Well, I haven't found any nVidia cards that will work on the older Mac Pro systems. Even the nVidia Quadro 4800 for Mac (new) only runs on systems from 2008 and later since it uses the PCI-X connections. From the Apple store, it's also $1699 - about $1400 from other vendors. I do know that the nVidia 8800GT cards run on some earlier x86 Mac Pro systems.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

you can try to flash an apple compatible firmware on a normal x86 video card but is quite dangerous... try looking for a second hand videocard removed from a brocken apple powerpc system.
