[SOLVED] Unable to login as root user in F10
Hi All,
I have just upgraded my laptop from F8 to F10, and I am unable to login to the system as root user.
At login, it provides 2 options, one is the user I created and another called 'other'.
On selecting 'other' and providing uid/passwd as 'root/<rootpassword>, it says "Unable to Authenticate User"!!!
However, when I tried to access my windows partition, it happily accepted the root password!
Is this a new feature in F10, which does not allow login as "root user"??
Thanks in advance.Linux Rocks!!!!

GUI root login, ie, from the display manager, is disabled by default in most distros.

Correct.
As a Fedora user, I can tell you that you will have [I]root[I] access only from terminal with 'su -'.
But then again... why would you need to login as root unless for admin purposes?Jay

Thanks guys for clarifying my doubt.
It does allow me to be root user, while using the terminal, for building and installing stuff.Linux Rocks!!!!
