Fedora 11 Install || Damn Thing Goes Where It Wants!
I used Acronis' Disk Director Suite 10.0 ["DDS"] to create 7 logical partitions of 23GB each, into one of which i asked Fedora 11 to install. Fedora 11 completely ignored me and created 2 primary partitions of its own: a 217.4GB, a 2GB and a 2GB "unallocated." I will likely delete this installation for a number of reasons.
so, can someone suggest what went wrong; how can i force fedora to install into a 23GB logical partition that i created for just that purpose? if i can't use DDS-created partitions then why do i need DDS-created partitions?!

Your images are too small and cannot be read.
I believe the default install for Fedora is a root partition, a separate boot partition and swap.
And why would you think you need DDS created ;partitions? Where did you get that info? I've never used Acronis but on the home page for Acronis Disk Director, they state "the most popular disk management functions, partition recovery tools, and boot disk manager for Windows XP and Vista desktop systems. "if i can't use DDS-created partitions then why do i need DDS-created partitions?!
You might try using Fedora tools to do the installation but you haven't given any information about what (if anything) you already have on the computer.

if you 2xclick the image then you will see a larger version that perfectly readable.
are you sure you're a "linux engineer" -- i'm harboring serious reservations about what that label means?

You'll discover that the quickest way to make everyone on this forum go out of their way to ignore you, is to insult someone who was volunteering their time to help you.
with that
Let me google that for you

now be honest, did yancek's answer have meaning -- to someone on my level, anyway -- much less substance. anyone can copy-and-paste erudition; it contributes nothing. if you haven't eaten in 3 days and i hand you a piece of rotten chicken, will you tell me Thank You?

I'm sorry, this might be more on your level

Instead of "are you sure you're a "linux engineer" -- i'm harboring serious reservations about what that label means?"
don't you think that
"I don't understand what you wrote, Can you explain it in more common terms?"
would net you a better response?New to the internet, technical forums, or the hacker / open source community??

If you couldn't understood yancek suggestion, you could have mention that in a bit polite way. yancek is a very helpful member of LinuxForums. We don't allow any kind of rudeness here. This is a first and last warning for you nweissma. Do not repeat this else we have to ban you.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

i don't want to lock horns with you about this, but it appears to me that yancek's answer was smart-***, sarcastic rude:
maybe it's me, but i can feel this boy's dripping incompetence, and his need to project his frustration onto others. and i don't care how many times he "contributes" to this forum. nor do i care to read his other posts, but I'll bet that they are all of this same copy-and-paste bravado genre. if you want to use this forum as a kindergarten then that's fine, but I'm not the mommy type. And why would you think you need DDS created ;partitions?
