Problem with notebook display and Fedora 12
I am trying to install Fedora 12 on my Acer extensa 5635G notebook but i have a problem.
After i put cd into drive and choose boot from that menu, only thing i get is black screen, even tho i hear disk and dvd drive working.
If i connect external display and then try to boot and install, it works fine on external display, but still no picture on notebook display.
How can i fix this?

Try to disable the external display in the BIOS if you can. I think the OS believes there is something attached to the external display port, even though there isn't, so output is going there. Alternatively, once the system is booted with the external monitor attached and you are logged in, try to switch to the internal monitor. The display manager GUI should be able to see it. If it doesn't, then there is some incompatibility with the system software.

Well its notebook, so not really much options in BIOS to change. And ofc no option to change or disable external display.
I tried to change it once when it boots up with display manager (well haven't actually installed it, just tried it in live mode), but there is only displayed external display, like notebook display doesnt even exist.
Weird thing is, just before i boot in, on that screen where i have option to boot, verify etc., active display is one from notebook..

No chance you have it plugged into a port extender is there? My Dell D630 won't display on the LCD screen if it is, and the extender is attached to either a monitor or a KVM switch.

No, it isnt plugged into anything....
Oh well, i guess il just have to try with some other or older version of Fedora... or diffrent distro, it seems only Fedora 12 is making problems.
