    configuring printer

    hello everyone
    i have a machine on which we have a base operating system Windows Xp. On this system we have connected a network printer connected which our windows machine can detect and use. i have installed RehHat 5.2 over windows using VMware. on that Redhat i cant see my printer, can anyone please tell me how can i configure that network printer on my Redhat distribution.

    I don't do any Windows/Linux networking myself so can't say for sure, but I think samba should give you the ability to print between Windows and Linux:

    the idea is to use my printer from my RedHat distribution which is installed on my windows os via vmware.
    i wanna send print command from windows to redhat and redhat can send further requests to printer. for that i wanna see my printer in redhat.

    What do you mean by 'cant see my printer'? Red Hat doesn't detect network printers. What I have to do is run system-config-printer and create a print queue for it. Have you tried that?

    i tried system-config-printer but wasnt able to make a printer queue for it. could you please guide me what exactly i have to do in adding a printer via system-config-printer utility.
