Unable to login as root using GUI

    Hi,

I have installed Fedora 10 on VmWare. I created another user besides root. I am able to login to that user using GNome login and i can switch to root using "su" command and perform the additional tasks.

Now, for one lab assignment, i need to login as root using GUI. But whenever i am trying to do, I am unable to do that. Is there some additional things that i have to do to login as root from GUI?

GUI root login is disabled by default in most distros, since it's a terrible idea.

I don't quite understand, your assignment is to learn how to login as root? Or you are under the impression you need to login as root to accomplish the assignment?

Either/or, homework questions are against the forum rules. But if you google some GDM documentation, you should be able to find your answer in short order.

As noted above, homework questions aren't allowed on the forums, but a quick google of Fedora 10 enable GUI root login should give you all the info you need.
