    hi all,
    i m new in linux.today i tried to install real player on my system using the following command,

    yum install "path of the software"

    but unable to install.help me how can i install easily.i m using redhat linux.

    Welcome to the forums!

    Note that real player must reside in the repo that you are trying to install from. If you are sure it's there, did you get any error messages?

    If so, post them and maybe someone can help.

    Real Player is awful, I wouldn't recommend using it.

    Presumably you downloaded the rpm package from the real player site. You would need to use the rpm command to install that.

    Yup, I'd have to agree with reed9 that it's not the best option for playing media.
