[SOLVED] Where is root trash?
Hi All,
I deleted a bunch of things with root (old home folders) but now I can't empty the trash....where is the directory that the root trash goes to? I'll do a terminal delete from there but I can't seem to find it. Thanks allBodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17

I've never looked for trash in the root folder, so not sure, but check to see if it's here:
Code:/root/.local/share/Trash/trash_files

it is there but it's showing it empty...? It's definitely not empty though, if I go into dolphin with kdesu it has a full trash bin and I can see all the files...very strange

Just guessing... maybe they are there but are hidden files, or perhaps they are in your /home trash folder.

What desktop manager are your using? I know that on my CentOS system with KDE as the desktop manager, the trash folder is ~/.Trash

KDE, the trash folder is there where Ozar said it would be but it's showing no files at all despite me knowing there is at least 3 or 4 gigs worth of home folders there (basically I had all these tester home folders plus my girlfriends which was never used and then I had my Ubuntu one that got corrupted when I tried changing it over to Fedora). So now I'm wasting 4 gigs or so (of a 8 gig home partition) for nothing.....right now it's not an issue but I can see it being an issue quickly

What I usually do in a situation like this is to run du -sk * .?* to find the biggest directories (regular and hidden) and drill down until I find what I'm looking for. If it doesn't appear, then the directory may be gone altogether, though the space is still in use, in which case I will run fsck on the file system to recover the space.

that did the trick, thanks Rubberman. The directory was /home/.Trash-0/
weird spot for root deletes to go but cleared it up (and luckily because I found out I only had 600 megs free lol)
Thanks again, and thanks to Ozar as wellBodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
