    Sata card not working

I have a sata card in my RHEL5 server that is not working. It has a 1.5tb hard drive attached to it that I would like to use. It seems that the 2.6.18 kernel did not detect and use it by default. I was able to find some info about the

03:06.0 RAID bus controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6421 IDE RAID Controller (rev 50)

What would be the best way to get this card working?

    Thanks

I installed an Addonics 4 port esata RAID card (uses a Silicon Image chip set) that worked out-of-the-box with my CentOS (RHEL) 5 system. I don't know about the VIA chip sets. What does the manufacturer of the card say about Linux support? If RHEL 5 doesn't support it directly, then you will need to get a driver from the manufacturer. If they don't support RHEL, then I suggest you return it and get one that is supported.
