I thought CTRL+ALT+F7 was to return to the GUI.
    while CTRL+ALT+F1, 2,3,4,5,or 6 will give you a full
screen terminal. You could look in your menu for a terminal
window. Does it also fail to accept commands?

The virtual consoles in Fedora (Red Hat may be different) are at alt+ctrl+f2-f6. You will have to login with your usual username and password. Good Luck!

    Am i doing something wrong....

    Observation:
CTRL+ALT+F7 ----> Takes me to the CLI screen
CTRL+ALT+F1 -----> Takes me back to the GUI

    Terminal window does take inputs......
@CLI cursor blinks and doesn't take inputs?

That's not a command line. You can't just go to alt+ctrl+f2? That should ask you to login.
