    Restore Deleted File

    Hi Friends,

    I am very depressed. I accidentally deleted one of my very important folder using the command

    rm -rf /Plone

    That is a very important project done in Plone( a CMS )
    is any way to recover my Folder.

    Recover from your (hopefully existing) backup.

    Other than that: TestDisk - CGSecurity
    But prepare for some pain. It is uncertain that everything can be recovered.

    What's your file system? ext3 ?Did you umount the file system? Don't showdown or restart and
    Don't perform any other activities on it. And Try ext3grep tool.

    Welcome to the forums!

    If TestDisk (as recommended above) can't do it, my guess is that it's gone for good unless you pay some commercial service to recover it for you.

    You can find both, TestDisk and PhotoRec, on many different liveCDs including Parted Magic.

    Edit: I'm not interested at all in installing it to my hard drive, so I took a look around to see if ext3grep might be available on a liveCD somewhere but couldn't find one that included it. If anyone knows of one, I might try it... thanks!
