U should first check out whether ur driver for broadcom is installed or not n if installed then try "ifconfig wlan0" wlan0 depicts ur wifi card or "iwconfig" from terminal .
If not installed then u can try ndiswraper or u can install from Broadcom site
There should be firmware files at "/lib/firmware/b43/", so list this directory after driver is installed..

There are actually two types of Broadcom wireless cards. Neither will work out-of-the-box in Linux. Different steps are taken, depending on the type that you have.

We need more detailed information before we can help. Read the thread linked to below. It details the info needed, and how to find and post it.

    Wireless Setup - Start Here

If it is the b43 driver that you require, you indeed need to install firmware before it will work. I made an rpm file that contains the firmware, that should work on Fedora 12.

    b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm

It can be installed with this command:
    Code:
    su -c 'rpm -ivh b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm'
There is a completely different driver for the other type of wireless. I will advise you on that if you need it. Please first post the needed info.

thank you for this info i tried that file but i got this msg "/tmp/b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. im sorry for being uneducated in Linux but what does this mean?

Your wireless is trying to use the b43 driver. It supported this wireless starting in the 2.6.32 kernel, which you have. It is looking for the firmware, but can't find it. That was the URL that you removed.
    Code:
    b43 ssb0:0: firmware: requesting b43/ucode15.fw
    b43 ssb0:0: firmware: requesting b43-open/ucode15.fw
b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to [u/en/users/Drivers/b43#devicefirmware]b43 - Linux Wireless[/url] and download the correct firmware for this driver version. Please carefully read all instructions on this website.
The firmware package that I linked to may have the needed firmware, so let's try again to download and install it.

The previous time you tried, showed that you had it in a /tmp folder. Download it to your home folder, the top directory of the user that you are logged in as. Don't log in as root. Something like this:

    /home/Keyvay

If you download it to your home folder, when you open a terminal window, it will already be in the correct folder. You only need to install the package. If you are unsure, you can list the files in the folder with this command:
    Code:
    ls
So, try installing the firmware rpm package once again.

I just noticed that there are some existing firmware files, and the install fails. You can install the firmware with this command:
    Code:
su -c 'rpm -ivh --replacefiles b43-firmware-4.150.10.5-0.noarch.rpm'
This will replace the files of the same name, with the ones from the package that you are installing.
